Marisa has 4 years of experience working with children, adolescents, teens, adults, and families, helping them overcome their personal, relational, emotional, and behavioral issues. She has experience working with clients struggling with addiction, codependency, depression, gender identity, sexual orientation, and other life stressors.

Education/Training/Certifications:

Marisa is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor. She received her Master of Education and Education Specialist degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Clemson University in 2019. She is currently under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and expects to obtain full licensure in Summer 2024.

Marisa has worked with children, adults, and families of all ages and identities on a variety of issues. She utilizes an integrative approach with clients, tailoring evidence-based treatments to fit individual needs. Marisa has experience working with clients struggling with addiction, codependency, depression, gender identity, sexual orientation, and other life stressors.

Goals & Vision for Therapy:

Marisa's goal when working with clients and their families is to partner together to help them acknowledge their personal strengths, identify areas of growth, and empower them to make positive changes in their personal lives and their relationships with others. She believes that everyone deserves to have self-compassion, and developing an acceptance and appreciation for ourselves allows us to have meaningful connections with those around us.

In Marisa's free time, she enjoys playing video games, watching TV and movies, or spending time with those she loves most.
