Samantha has experience working with children, teens, young adults, and families. She utilizes a person-centered approach to therapy. Her specialties include trauma, emotional and behavioral issues, family issues, adjustment disorders, and attachment. Samantha believes that play is a child's first language and enjoys using play, art, and games in therapy to help engage younger clients.
Education/Training/Certifications:
Samantha is a Licensed Professional Counselor and received her Master of Counselor Education from The University of Mississippi. She has training in family therapy and play therapy. Samantha is also currently working toward becoming a Registered Play Therapist.
Ages & Issues Treated:
Samantha works with children (ages 3 and up), teens, and their families. She works with a variety of issues including trauma, stress, anxiety, family issues, behavior and emotional issues, attachment, adjustment, adoption, reunification, and family transitions.
Goals & Vision for Therapy:
Samantha's goal when working with clients is to provide a safe space for the exploration of thoughts and emotions and self-acceptance. I strive to focus on the person, not the problem. I want to help my clients find hope and identify their strengths to help them overcome barriers.
