The Hope Center: Counseling & Medication Management
The Hope Center in West Monroe is the new Counseling and Medication Management Clinic of The Center for Children & Families. Our goal is to increase access to mental health services for children in Northeast Louisiana. The Hope Center provides counseling services for children who have experienced trauma and their families who are navigating life’s difficult situations, as well as medication management services for children with emotional and behavioral health needs.
COUNSELING
Counseling services at The Hope Center are provided by licensed and experienced mental health professionals employed by The Center for Children and Families. We accept private insurance and self-pay options for our in-clinic services which offer compassionate and innovative mental health treatments for various behavioral and/or mental health issues. Sessions are family-oriented and research-based to ensure the highest quality of care.
The reasons children may need counseling services include:
- Anxiety
- Anger or Violence
- Behavior Issues (at home, school, or community)
- Depression
- Family Conflict and Crisis (separation and divorce)
- Grief and Loss
- Mental Health Issues
- Running Away
- Suicide Risk
- Trauma (including abuse and neglect)
MEDICATION MANAGEMENT
With over 60 years of combined experience, our medical psychologist and nurse practitioner offer evaluation and treatment plans for children with mental and behavioral health needs. Our providers work collaboratively with our counseling services to meet each client's specific needs.

Hannah Gilbert, MSW, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Hannah is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 4 years of professional experience supporting individuals, families, and groups. She specializes in helping clients navigate challenges related to anxiety, depression, addiction, grief, and personal relationships. Hannah is committed to providing care with unconditional positive regard, respecting each client's unique culture, beliefs, and personal identifications.
Michaela Armoney, M.A., LPC
Counselor
Michaela has an extensive background in working with children and families from diverse backgrounds, accumulating 6 years of experience in the field. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Michaela holds a Master of Science in Counseling and Guidance with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Louisiana Tech. She has a particular appreciation for working with teenagers, valuing their honesty, and responding with direct, relatable support.
Brittney Jones, M.S., LPC-S
Counselor
Brittney has been a practicing Licensed Professional Counselor for eleven years. Her passion is bringing healing to people who have experienced trauma. She helps her clients, who include children, adults, and families, to find healthy perceptions of themselves and strengthen their relationships so they can know themselves.
Emily Jones, Ph.D., LMFT-S, LPC-S
Counselor
Emily has worked with children, families, and couples for twelve years. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor. Emily enjoys working with children and families who have been through different types of trauma, utilizing Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI). She strives to help create connection and repair for those who need it most.
Roseanne Hutchinson, M.A., LPC
Counselor
Roseanne Hutchinson is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana Tech University and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Northwestern University. With a wealth of experience spanning across various age groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and families, Roseanne is well-equipped to address a diverse range of mental health concerns. Her primary focus lies in helping clients develop effective coping mechanisms to self-regulate anxiety and depression symptoms, while also working towards resolving past trauma that may be impacting their present wellbeing.
Lacey Kennon, APRN, CPNP
Nurse Practitioner
Lacey holds an advanced practice registered nursing degree from Northwestern State University and is board-certified as a pediatric nurse practitioner. She has worked in the pediatric field for ten years and is passionate about improving access to care to promote emotional, mental, and physical well-being.
Tony Young, Ph.D., M.P.
Medical Psychologist
Dr. Young earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary. He has been with The Center for Children and Families for ten years practicing as a medical psychologist. He taught at Louisiana Tech University for fifteen years and has been a practicing psychologist for nearly forty years.
