Shelley has a wide range of experience working with juveniles in the correctional system, addictions and rehabilitation, and children and families with system involvement. She understands current issues and tries to help clients come to an understanding of their own situations. As a client begins the process of understanding, the larger context is used to explore possible resources in an effort to help solve problems. Shelley's objective for counseling is to empower clients to access and utilize their resources. As clients begin to feel confident and access their resources, they will feel more secure in the personal decision-making process, which will lead them to their therapeutic goal(s).
Education/Training/Certifications:
Shelley is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Mississippi and a National Board-Certified Counselor. She received her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Mississippi College. Shelley is currently pursuing a certification in EMDR and to become a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor.

Shelley's clients have faced a variety of challenges that include trauma, abuse, neglect, depression, anxiety, PTSD, ODD, conduct disorder, along with a wide range of behavioral issues.

Shelley approaches clients with kindness, respect, and value, using a Strength Base approach, Person-Centered, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Talk Therapy, and a Narrative approach.
